Vol. 4, Issue 9

From January 1 through August 31, 6,807 donors and their families selflessly gave the gift of sight. 7,511 tissues were provided for sight restoring transplants, and 2,175 tissues helped to advance vision research and support clinical education and training.

Restoring sight, preventing blindness & empowering global communities

Every day, people around the world are getting a second chance at sight. Parents seeing their children’s face again, students going back to school and independence restored. By working alongside partners, we’re building sustainable eye care solutions, training local experts and expanding access to life-changing vision care.

The responsibility of a recovery technician

For over 20 years, Eversight’s Davis Wilson has recovered donated corneal tissue for transplantation, research or education. Although eye banking has changed throughout his career, the heart of the work has remained the same: caring for donors and honoring their gifts.
