From January 1, 2023, through August 31, 4,790 donors and their families selflessly gave the gift of sight. 6,077 tissues were provided for sight-restoring transplants and 2,594 tissues were donated for research and educational purposes.
Importance of global cooperation in eye banking | webinar recap
Heather Machin, RN, MBA, PhD, presented an Eversight webinar on improving global access to donation and transplantation services.
Into his 30s, Gerry Bouey was legally blind. Ulcers had severely damaged his cornea and what vision he had was fading. But, thanks to a cornea transplant, his vision reached 20/40 and he was able to have a successful career.
Delta Dental has awarded Eversight a $5,000 grant to support clinical operations in Michigan. This gift may help up to 40 people receive a life-changing cornea transplant.

In the past 30 years our impact has skyrocketed, tripling the number of donors and families giving the gift of sight and quadrupling sight-restoring transplants and tissues provided for research and education.
Eversight hosted Women in Ophthalmology's first-ever cornea wet lab in August. Attendees gained DMEK and DSAEK technical skills and knowledge for the best possible outcomes for their patients.
Eversight’s mission is to restore sight and prevent blindness through the healing power of donation, transplantation and research. Our vision is a world without blindness.
