From January 1, 2023, through August 31, 4,790 donors and their families selflessly gave the gift of sight. 6,077 tissues were provided for sight-restoring transplants and 2,594 tissues were donated for research and educational purposes.

A whole new beginning 

Into his 30s, Gerry Bouey was legally blind. Ulcers had severely damaged his cornea and what vision he had was fading. But, thanks to a cornea transplant, his vision reached 20/40 and he was able to have a successful career.

Eversight hosted Women in Ophthalmology's first-ever cornea wet lab in August. Attendees gained DMEK and DSAEK technical skills and knowledge for the best possible outcomes for their patients.
